The Telegraph Creative Writing Group October topic is ‘Computers’. I’m in a historical mood at the moment, so decided that ‘The Analytical Assurance Company’ would be steam-driven.

The Food of Writers.

An enjoyable ‘literary’ lunch with good food and good company. We even talked about writing, a little.
It’s funny how one can get to know people quite well on-line, and be able to recognise them when meeting face to face, but have completely the wrong idea about how tall they are. People who we thought were tall, were not, and vice versa! Not that it matters, of course. And it’s a small world – two of our fathers went to the same school, decades apart. It would have been incredible enough if the school had been in the UK, but it was thousands of miles away, in New Jersey.
