I can see that marching may again become a hobby of mine, just as it was in 1978 when I went on the Rock Against Racism march with 100,000 others – yes, I was there!

Farewell to the Jolly Jaffa

My eyes misted over today as the Jolly Jaffa was towed away by its new owners. It’s been a lot of fun, and we have had some wonderful diving from it. But the ‘J.J.’ has had a pretty boring life for the last couple of years as our interest in diving has waned, and is going to a good home with undercover storage and enthusiastic owners. And we are moving on, to new interests and travels, to holidays when we are not lugging loads of heavy diving equipment around, holidays when we can actually be inland. Holidays when my eyes and hair aren’t full of salt all the time, and my fingernails don’t break!

Good luck ‘J.J.’, enjoy yourself and be safe on the water!

TCWG Writer of the Year 2012!

Went to lunch with the Daily Telegraph Creative Writers’ Group yesterday, it was great meeting people who I had got to know through their fiction and share a love of writing. I was thrilled to be nominated ‘Writer of the Year 2012’ for having the most top 3 stories during the year. It really meant a lot to me.

Looking forward to the first face to face meeting of the Daily Telegraph Creative Writers Group! Anyone wishing to join us by Skype link, reply with a comment and I will try and set it up. I’m not a well practised user of Skype but I think the venue has WiFi so it should work….
